Before I got started, I made some quick experiments with Javascript to get a sense of what I wanted to do.
These experiments allowed me to manipulate and create patters. I was also able to save the made pattern too. This game me a sense of what was possible, and where potential limitations could me.
I now aim to continue to progress on the final product.

I found this cool github repository from someone called Mark Roland:
He built this **sand-table-pattern-maker** tool which I thought was great. What I found particularly interesting about the tool he created was the options he felt were important to include in his pattern maker, refer to the below:
